Nana Konadu-Aboagye is a dedicated educator and advocate for inclusivity in the field of special educational needs (SEN), bringing over 17 years of diverse experience within both mainstream and special education settings. As a qualified teacher, access arrangement assessor, and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), Nana has developed a nuanced understanding of the complexities surrounding educational support for children with additional needs. Her professional journey is deeply enriched by both her extensive experience and her personal insights as a member of an ethnic minority.

Nana's passion for education was ignited early in her career, but it was her recognition of a significant gap in representation that propelled her to become a SENCO. She observed that many children from ethnic minority backgrounds were not receiving the tailored support they required, often leaving them to navigate the educational landscape without proper guidance. Determined to make a difference, Nana committed herself to advocating for these children and their families, ensuring that their unique cultural contexts are respected and integrated into educational practices.

In February 2024, Nana joined the Guba Foundation as the SEN Professional, a role that perfectly aligns with her mission to empower ethnic minority families. In this capacity, she works tirelessly to enhance understanding of neurodiversity within these communities, challenging the stigma that often surrounds the conversation about special educational needs. Her approach is rooted in the belief that every child deserves to be celebrated for their differences, and she strives to create an environment where diversity is not only acknowledged but embraced.
