Highlights from November Webinar: EHCP Guidance by Nana Konadu Aboagye

 

Nana Konadu Aboagye, Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO), on Friday, 15th November, at 7pm, led a discussion where she discussed step by step process in going through the EHCP Process to parents and carers with children on the autism spectrum.

During the webinar, Nana went through the step by step process where she discussed in detail the various channels parents have to go through in completing the EHCP process from Identifying of children’s needs to Completing the EHCP form & how long the process can take.

Nana Adwoa, who has over 15 years as a SENCO also directed parents and carers to where they could get the right support for their children whilst also highlighting the challenging aspects of the process but still maintaining an optimistic front with It is possible’. 

The interactive session saw over 20 parents & carers join and also asked their burning questions on the EHCP process as well as offering suggestions to other parents & carers present based on their experiences. Most of the parents found the webinar insightful as well.

The webinar which lasted for an hour was hosted by Gertrude Asumadu,  Project Coordinator of the ‘Autism I am Not a Stigma’ project, GUBA Foundation who encouraged participants to reach out through our email autismawareness@gubafoundation.org if they have any questions or require further support for their children with Nana Adwoa readily available to offer the required support.
