Markus Green is the Assistant General Counsel at Pfizer, Inc., the world’s largest pharmaceutical company. He leads the Government Litigation Group, where he collaborates with local, state, and federal prosecutors to defend Pfizer’s interests in government-initiated litigation and investigations. Additionally, he oversees various special initiatives at Pfizer, including Civil Justice Reform, the Attorney General Outreach Program, and handling Congressional Inquiries and Investigations.
Apart from his role at Pfizer, Mr. Green serves on the Advisory Board of the Attorney General Alliance – Africa program. He works with Ministries of Justice, Law Enforcement Personnel, Government and Non-Governmental Organizations, and other stakeholders to combat transnational crimes in African countries, including wildlife trafficking, human trafficking, money laundering, counterfeit drugs, terrorism, and corruption. He also attracts potential donors to support the program’s efforts in strengthening criminal justice responses to these crimes.
Before joining Pfizer, Mr. Green held significant positions in the legal field. He served as the Executive Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, managing complex civil and criminal litigation matters and implementing policy initiatives. He also worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, prosecuting misdemeanor and violent felony cases, as well as handling complex white-collar fraud matters.
Markus Green earned his Bachelor’s degree Summa Cum Laude from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and his Juris Doctorate With Honors from Rutgers School of Law in Camden, New Jersey. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.
